Keith Whitley

Beginning as a bluegrass artist, he transitioned to country music and achieved success with hit singles like "Miami, My Amy" and "When You Say Nothing at All". His album "Don't Close Your Eyes" (1988) became a major success, featuring chart-topping songs such as the title track. Whitley's traditional country sound and emotive vocals garnered critical acclaim. Tragically, his promising career was cut short by his death on May 9, 1989, at the age of 33, due to alcohol poisoning.
