Aaliyah Dana Haughton, known professionally as Aaliyah, was an American singer, actress, and model.

Born on January 16, 1979, in Brooklyn, New York, Aaliyah became an R&B icon in the late 1990s with her smooth vocals and innovative sound. She started her career early, releasing her debut album "Age Ain't Nothing but a Number" at the age of 15.

Aaliyah continued to achieve success with subsequent albums, including "One in a Million" and the self-titled "Aaliyah." Her musical style often blended R&B, hip-hop, and soul, contributing to her distinctive and influential sound. Some of her well-known songs include "Try Again", "Are You That Somebody?" and "Rock the Boat".

In addition to her music career, Aaliyah ventured into acting with roles in films such as "Romeo Must Die" and "Queen of the Damned".
