Gabriel Garcia Marquez

Gabriel Garcia Marquez was an author, journalist and film writer. He was born on March 6, 1927,in the small town of Aracataca in Colombia and died April 17, 2014,in Mexico City. He was one in all the greatest writers of Latin America. Marquez wrote novels and short stories. Furthermore, he was awarded in 1982 the Nobel Prize in Literature. He is one of the most important authors of the 20th century, noted for popularizing a genre referred to as magic realism, that uses magic elements and events in otherwise ordinary and realistic situations. He's best famous for his works "One Hundred Years of Solitude" and "Love within the Time of Cholera".
