Getting rich is not just about luck; happiness is not just a trait we are born with. These aspirations may seem out of reach, but building wealth and being happy are skills we can learn.

So what are these skills, and how do we learn them? What are the principles that should guide our efforts? What does progress really look like?

Naval Ravikant is an entrepreneur, philosopher, and investor who has captivated the world with his principles for building wealth and creating long-term happiness.
The Almanack of Naval Ravikant is a collection of Naval’s wisdom and experience from the last ten years, shared as a curation of his most insightful interviews and poignant reflections. This isn’t a how-to book, or a step-by-step gimmick. Instead, through Naval’s own words, you will learn how to walk your own unique path toward a happier, wealthier life.

This book has been created as a public service. It is available for free download in pdf and e-reader versions on Navalmanack.com. Naval is not earning any money on this book. Naval has essays, podcasts and more at Nav.al and is on Twitter @Naval.

Shane Parrish, founder of Farnam Street

"Naval is an incredible source of wisdom. The problem was, you had to look all over to find it. This book is the only place where Naval's genius is all collected. I've already read it twice, and plan to re-read it at least 2 times a year. I can think of no higher praise for a book."

Wisdom From A Entrepreneur, Philosopher and Investor
5 Stars
Wisdom From A Entrepreneur, Philosopher and Investor
Naval Ravikant is an entrepreneur, philosopher, and investor. This impressive book is a collection of Naval’s wisdom and experience from the last ten years. “The Almanack of Naval Ravikant,” compiled by Eric Jorgenson, covers key principles such as seeking wealth, ethical wealth creation, the importance of ownership, perpetual learning, decision-making, the value of reading, and the pursuit of genuine happiness. It focuses on the idea that making money is a skill that involves knowing what to do, who to work with, and when to act. It highlights the importance of seeking wealth, ethical wealth creation, and the role of ownership in achieving financial freedom. The author stresses the significance of becoming the best in the world at what you do and the value of perpetual learning. Additionally, the book explores the concept of compound interest in reputation, the contrast between ownership and wage work, and the need to control one's time for financial freedom.Highlights:1. Seek wealth, not just money or status, and understand the ethical aspects of wealth creation.2. Set an aspirational personal hourly rate and focus on tasks that align with it.3. Become the best in the world at what you do and aim for mastery in one or two areas.4. Compound interest applies not only to finances but also to reputation.5. Ownership, rather than renting out time, is essential for financial freedom. The most crucial lesson from the material is the emphasis on ownership over wage work for achieving financial freedom. The book argues that without owning a piece of a business, one is tied to a linear relationship between inputs and outputs, making it difficult to generate passive income and control one's time. Therefore, the key to wealth and happiness is to focus on building ownership and assets that generate income even while not actively working. Here are my favorite quotes from the book:Become the best in the world at what you do. Keep redefining what you do until this is true.Earn with your mind, not your time.Reading a book isn’t a race—the better the book, the more slowly it should be absorbed.Nothing like a health problem to turn up the contrast dial for the rest of life.Ditch the extremists and any food invented in the last few hundred years.Too much sugar leads to a heavy body, and too many distractions lead to a heavy mind.If I can’t treat someone like a peer and if they can’t treat me like peer, I just don’t want to interact with them.I don’t believe in anger anymore.

Naval Ravikant is frankly a very wise sage. I am learning so much more about business leadership, financial tools, life hacking strategies and mainly business wisdom, financial wisdom and happiness affirming philosophies. This generations new Napoleon Hill combined with Ray Dalio thinking and Warren Buffet Mindset/Charlie Munger Mindset. One may imagine investing this to help you create a fulfilled financial future. I love this easy to read format. I read 70 pages in a day when I received this as a present from my Life Coach Accountability partner and NLP Master Practitioner friend, Adele from SWEDEN. I highly recommend for anyone who is learning to start over financially and actually BE HAPPY with their life!

Naval, you may never read this but you have provided so much information in this book. Granted, after purchasing I discovered I could have just gone on your website and read this for free. Luckily I am old school and enjoy a physical book. To those looking at reviews, it's a great read directly from a master's mind!

Here are my favorite quotes from the book:

Become the best in the world at what you do. Keep redefining what you do until this is true.

Earn with your mind, not your time.

Nothing like a health problem to turn up the contrast dial for the rest of life.

Ditch the extremists and any food invented in the last few hundred years.

Too much sugar leads to a heavy body, and too many distractions lead to a heavy mind.

I don’t believe in anger anymore.

Nothing to say only good things about the content of the book but the softcover book is very poorly designed or photocopied, some of which are even blurry. I don't know if I recommend the hardcover version.
