Naval Ravikant is an entrepreneur, philosopher, and investor who has captivated the world with his principles for building wealth and creating long-term happiness. The Almanack of Naval Ravikant is a collection of Naval’s wisdom and experience from the last ten years, shared as a curation of his most insightful interviews and poignant reflections. Editorial Reviews
Review
--Shane Parrish, founder of Farnam Street
"Naval is an incredible source of wisdom. The problem was, you had to look all over to find it. This book is the only place where Naval's genius is all collected. I've already read it twice, and plan to re-read it at least 2 times a year. I can think of no higher praise for a book."
--Tucker Max, 4x New York Timesbestselling author
"I want everyone in my life to read this book, especially the happiness section."
--Kaylan from Kansas City, USA
"This isn't just a book, it's a new medium."
--Brentfrom Columbia, USA
"The clearest multidisciplinary thinker on the internet."
--George from London, England (via Twitter)
"I can't say anyone else on Twitter has influenced my thinking and habits as much as Naval. There have been a few topics (reading, meditation, and meetings) where Naval's advice has completely changed my approach. His words have stuck with me for years."
--David from San Francisco (via Twitter)
"You need a better title."
--Mohit from Singapore (via Twitter)
"Naval is successful because he deeply understands people. His mental models offer a blueprint on how to live your life."

Highlights:
1. Seek wealth, not just money or status, and understand the ethical aspects of wealth creation.
2. Set an aspirational personal hourly rate and focus on tasks that align with it.
3. Become the best in the world at what you do and aim for mastery in one or two areas.
4. Compound interest applies not only to finances but also to reputation.
5. Ownership, rather than renting out time, is essential for financial freedom.
The most crucial lesson from the material is the emphasis on ownership over wage work for achieving financial freedom. The book argues that without owning a piece of a business, one is tied to a linear relationship between inputs and outputs, making it difficult to generate passive income and control one's time. Therefore, the key to wealth and happiness is to focus on building ownership and assets that generate income even while not actively working.
Here are my favorite quotes from the book:
Become the best in the world at what you do. Keep redefining what you do until this is true.
Earn with your mind, not your time.
Reading a book isn’t a race—the better the book, the more slowly it should be absorbed.
Nothing like a health problem to turn up the contrast dial for the rest of life.
Ditch the extremists and any food invented in the last few hundred years.
Too much sugar leads to a heavy body, and too many distractions lead to a heavy mind.
If I can’t treat someone like a peer and if they can’t treat me like peer, I just don’t want to interact with them.
I don’t believe in anger anymore.
